Fan-”F-ing”-Tastic

The new Fantastic Four trailer is out, and isn’t it ironic that the worst thing about it is The Thing? Note to the filmmakers who will redo this movie in 11 years: Ben Grimm’s lips should NOT be more prominent than his brow. And give the role back to Michael Bailey Smith. Apple breaks $500 barrier…

…that is, they’ve finally gone BELOW IT! There must have been a Macintosh conference of expo or something because on top of the iPod shuffle, Apple has introduced the Mac mini, a 2-inch high, 6.5-inch square, slot-loading, Wi-Fi-ready, G4-powered beast of a machine. Now you have no defense for owning a non-Apple MP3 player.

The plan is to make a pedestrian mall that extends directly south from Memorial Union to just shy of Regent Street. The centerpiece of this redevelopment is the demolition of University Square. (For those that don’t know, it’s the only thing downtown that resembles a mall, and it’s an armpit — but it’s OUR armpit dammit! We’ll miss it.) The new site will house the Registrar, Bursar, new Health Services, and new Student Activities Center, as well as private parking, residential space, and yes, more retail space.
