Watched Kaiju Big Battel on Jimmy Kimmel Live (as reported on 2/18/2003) last night and they were surprisingly athletic. Guys in huge, goofy costumes (spoofs of Godzilla and Ultraman, et al.) fighting in a cage, throwing, grappling and even leaping from the top of the cage walls (about 8 feet) directly onto one another. It was hard to follow the action since they were editing the footage live, and probably hadn’t rehearsed the shooting. I’d recommend seeing Kaiju live.
